Energy Ministry, IFC discuss green energy cooperation

Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov has met with the IFC delegation led by Alfonso García Mora, Vice President for Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

 

The discussions centered on the cooperation between the Ministry and IFC in renewable energy projects, specifically focusing on the use of offshore wind energy.

 

The Minister outlined ongoing cooperation projects between Azerbaijan, the IFC, and the World Bank Group, specifically focusing on expanding green energy utilization. The projects encompass a road map on offshore wind energy, strengthening the national grid and renewable energy export plans. Both parties emphasized the importance of implementing these projects in accordance with Azerbaijan's green development and global climate objectives, prioritizing efficiency and timely execution.

 

The IFC Vice-President congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting the COP29 International Conference. Recognizing Azerbaijan's unique green energy potential and its ambitious goals, he reiterated the organization's commitment to providing technical support for project implementation.

 

The sides exchanged views on the green energy export from the Caspian to Europe and from Nakhchivan to Türkiye, energy transition, energy efficiency, green hydrogen, electromobility and other issues.
