Azerbaijan is a friendly country for the Czech Republic,” said President of the Senate of the Czech Parliament Miloš Vystrčil as he met with Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
The President of the Senate noted the importance of interparliamentary ties in terms of developing relations between the two countries. Miloš Vystrčil stressed the importance of energy issues, and pointed out that his country highly values energy cooperation with Azerbaijan. He also expressed the Czech Republic’s intentions to increase the trade turnover between the two friendly countries.
The meeting highlighted Azerbaijan’s important role as an oil and gas supplier to Europe.
The two emphasized the significance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the humanitarian field, and pointed out that the further development of relations in the fields of education, science, and culture, holding cultural events on a mutual basis are of great importance.
The President of the Czech Senate was also informed about the military and political provocations committed by Armenia against Azerbaijan, as well as mine threats.
