The Association of Banks of Azerbaijan held a meeting regarding the debts of our soldiers who died during the anti-terrorist measures held in September of this year and made a decision to write off the bank debts of the martyrs.

In the decision, it was stated that all types of loan obligations of our martyred servicemen in banks, interest and other payments accrued to them are in full, and the loan obligations of our wounded servicemen to banks in the period from September 19, 2023 to December 31, 2023 will include interest and other payments. the payments should be debited to the bank account.

It is interesting, at what stage is the cancellation of the debts of the martyrs?

Modern.az appealed to the Azerbaijan Banks Association to clarify the issue.

Zakir Nuriyev, the chairman of the association, said in response to our inquiry that all types of debts to banks of all the martyrs presented in the list presented to us by the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have been completely written off.
He did not say how much was removed.

"All the presented martyrs' debts to the banks have been completely written off. This is a bit sensitive topic. Regardless of how many people there are, how much the amount is, we want all of them to write off their debts," Zakir Nuriyev stressed.

It should be noted that anti-terrorist measures were implemented on September 19-20. As a result of the measures, the separatist regime in Karabakh surrendered and decided to release itself. Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavand, Aghdara, Askaran settlements have come under the control of the Azerbaijani army.

According to the information of the Ministry of Defense, the number of martyrs during anti-terrorist measures is 204 people.
