Beijing to host 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation

The third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) will be held in Beijing on October 17-18.

According to the China’s Foreign Ministry, President Xi Jinping will also attend the opening ceremony of the Forum and deliver a keynote speech.

The panel sessions of the Forum will feature discussions on cooperation in the framework of the Belt and Road initiative.

An Azerbaijani delegation will also attend the event.

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was initiated by the Chinese government in 2013 to promote regional trade and expand Chinese economic and trade cooperation in the Eurasian region.

The “Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Encouragement of the Establishment of Silk Way Economic Belt” between two countries was signed during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to China in 2015.

The first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held in 2017. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held in Beijing in 2019.
