In 2025, Azerbaijani Paralympic athletes achieved strong international results, winning a total of 61 medals — 22 gold, 18 silver, and 21 bronze. The National Paralympic Committee reported that this year’s achievements included one world champion and two European champions.

The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually on December 3, following a 1992 UN General Assembly resolution. The day aims to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities and raise public awareness about their issues and inclusion in all areas of society. The Paralympic movement plays a key role in advancing these goals by challenging stereotypes and promoting social inclusion through athletes’ accomplishments.

The year 2025 was particularly significant for young Azerbaijani Paralympic athletes due to their strong performances at major international events. At the 7th European Youth Paralympic Games, the national team was represented by 17 athletes competing in 7 sports, securing a total of four gold, two silver, and seven bronze medals.

At the ISF U15 Gymnasiade held in Zlatibor, Serbia, in April 2025, Azerbaijani junior Paralympians claimed nine medals, including three gold, two silver, and four bronze.
