Wolverhampton Wanderers shocked Manchester United 2-0 in the English Premier League week 18 game on Thursday, according to Anadolu Agency.

After a goalless first half on Boxing Day, Red Devil's Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes was sent off with a second yellow card in the 47th minute, hurting United's chances.

The hosts' Brazilian attacker Matheus Cunha drew first blood with a spectacular direct goal from a corner kick in the 58th minute at Wolverhampton's Molineux Stadium.

Before the final whistle was blown, South Korean attacker Hwang Hee-Chan made good use of Cunha's assist and made it 2-0 with a right-footed shot from the center of the box in the 99th minute.

Wolves, which had a poor start to the season and recently appointed Portuguese Vitor Perreira as their new head coach, moved up to 17th place with 15 points after this surprise win that gives them hope that they will start their comeback.

Being team of another Portuguese head coach, Ruben Amorim, Manchester United slipped to 14th place with 22 points.
