The Shahdag International Ski Mountaineering Race, co-organized by the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF), Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation, and Shahdag Tourism Center, has commenced today, welcoming nearly 60 athletes from 11 countries. The two-day competition will begin with Circuit 1 featuring the Sprint Race, followed by Circuit 2, which will feature the Vertical Race on March 10. The winners will be awarded medals and trophies by the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation and Shahdag Tourism Center on the concluding day of the event.
This tournament aims to promote winter sports in Azerbaijan, heighten interest in skiing sports among the population, and enhance the center's expertise in organizing international competitions.
