The Mexican Olympic Committee has abandoned its previously submitted bid to host the 2036 Olympics in the country, head of the committee, Maria Jose Alcala, said in a statement, Report informs via Relevo.
"Competition for the right to host the Olympics is very strong,” she said.
Mexico will instead bid to host the 2032 Youth Olympics, the committee head said. She noted that the country has "excellent opportunities" for this.
Previously, India, Türkiye, Indonesia and Poland submitted bids to host the Olympics in 2036.
