Mali began the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a 2-0 win against South Africa on Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.
After a silent first half, Hamari Traore opened the score for Mali in the 60th minute at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, Ivory Coast.
Lassine Sinayoko made it 2-0 just six minutes later.
Mali lead Group E with 3 points, while South Africa are in fourth spot with zero points in the standings.

Burkina Faso-Mauritania: 1-0
Tunisia-Namibia: 0-1
Mali-South Africa: 2-0
