Azerbaijani chess players Rauf Mammadov and Eltaj Safarli will test their strength at the 2023 European Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships to take place in Zagreb, Croatia on December 14-17.
The first event on the schedule will be the European Rapid Chess Championship 2023 which will be played on 14-15 December, in 11 rounds, Swiss system. The total prize fund of the event will be 30.000 EUR.
The European Blitz Chess Championship 2023 will be held on December 16th, in 13 single rounds. The Blitz Championship will feature the total prize fund of 15.000 EUR.
The European Championship will welcome about 500 chess players.
