The world will face the appearance of new hot spots in 2024, said Russian military analyst, senior researcher at the Academy of Military Sciences Vladimir Prokhvatilov, Report informs referring to Russian media.

According to the expert, new conflicts may arise in the Middle East and Central Asia. Prokhvatilov believes that the West is planning a coup in Kazakhstan.

“I am concerned about the situation in Central Asia, where the US and the UK have simply become more active in all directions and are trying to tear Kazakhstan away from Russia. I do not rule out that the West will try to repeat the January 2022 riots,” Prokhvatilov said.

In January 2022, mass protests took place in Kazakhstan. Residents of the cities of Zhanaozen and Aktau in the west of the republic opposed the doubling of prices for liquefied gas. The protests later spread to other cities, including Almaty, the former capital and largest city of Kazakhstan.

On January 3, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev cited unresolved socio-economic problems and general stagnation as the reasons for the riots and attempted coup in the country in 2022.
