On the initiative of the chairman of the Peru-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, member of the Peruvian Congress Jose Enrique Ore, the Congress adopted a statement on September 27 - Remembrance Day, XQ informs, citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico.

The statement reads that in 2020, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan took countermeasures in order to prevent the new military aggression of Armenia and ensure the safety of the civilian population. As a result, the 44-day Patriotic War put an end to the aggression of Armenia.

After nearly thirty years of destruction of national, cultural and religious heritage, as well as war crimes, planting landmines, urbicide and ecocide, and the occupation of the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan by Armenia, Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity, and thus conditions were created for about one million Azerbaijani IDPs to safely return to their homeland.

Later, it was emphasized that September 27 was proclaimed the Remembrance Day by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to honor the memory of the soldiers and officers who heroically died in the 44-day Patriotic War, which led to the beginning of a new era, changed the realities in the region and restored international justice.

In the end, condolences are offered to the people of Azerbaijan and deep respect is expressed to the memory of all the martyrs who fought for the freedom of the Motherland.
